Description: 
The x64 Edition of Windows XP Professional is designed to work with 64-bit processors from AMD and Intel that support the x64 extensions to the x86 architecture.

To install this operating system on your x64 computer, you must already have a valid license for one of the following operating systems (not necessarily on the x64 computer), and you must discontinue the use of that operating system: Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP Home Edition.

Make a thorough backup of your important files before you install Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. The installation wipes out all data on the same drive as the operating system, so you will need to reinstall all your applications and restore all your files from backup.
